Look out world--I am blogging!

After months of thinking about it, talking about it, waffling back and forth about it, I have gone and done it, my friends. Today I have officially launched the Mama Bear Yoga blog!

I get a lot of questions about what I do. I hear things like:
How on earth do you teach yoga to babies and toddlers?
What do you do in a kids' yoga class?
Yoga is not for my child. He/she would never stay still long enough.
I would love to do yoga at home with my children. We just don't seem to have the time.

My hope is that, through this blog, I will help people see that yoga is for EVERYONE--babies, toddlers, children who don't stay still (they're not supposed to, btw), and the grown-ups who love all of the beautiful little people who fit into the aforementioned categories. I hope that this blog will help people see that yoga doesn't have to be super time-consuming--sometimes a quick little song or pose is all you need. And, most importantly, I hope that this blog will help people see that yoga is an amazing (and FUN!) way for you and your child to form inward and outward connections--inwardly connecting your mind, body, and breath to help you feel strong, balanced, and happy; and outwardly connecting with each other, taking a moment to just be present and enjoy each others' company.

So here we go--our first video! I have to be totally honest--I am taking the easy way out with this one. This video was made by the amazing and talented Jen Snyder, family photographer and motherhood blogger, for her own video-blog series, but I feel like it is a really good introduction to what Mama Bear Yoga is all about. It also includes a simple Sun Salutation sequence for preschoolers. If it weren't for Jen, I would not have taken the leap and committed to start making my own videos, so loads of gratitude go out her way!

I hope that you enjoy this first video and keep coming back for more. Please feel free to comment with questions, ideas for future videos, requests for specific age groups/activities, etc. I want this to be an interactive experience that meets your needs. And thank you, as always, for your love and support of MBY. I would not be here (or be blogging) without you!

Namaste,

Erin
